About  Edgeboard Connectors

Card edge connectors, also known as edgeboard connectors, are a popular style of connector system widely used in various applications. These connectors utilize a pattern of exposed copper regions located at the edge of a printed circuit board (PCB) to form one half of the mating connector pair. One common application for card edge connectors is the connection of accessory cards, such as graphics accelerators, to computer motherboards in desktop PC applications. The exposed copper regions on the PCB serve as the male contacts of the connector system, while the complementary female contacts are housed within the mating connector. One of the key advantages of card edge connectors is their relatively low cost compared to other connector options.
