MPS' MPQ2484U LED controller is a versatile and reliable solution for high-luminosity exterior lighting in automotive applications. The device supports buck, boost, and buck-boost configurations, enabling it to work with a wide range of LED lighting systems. It features a wide input voltage range of 4.5 V to 45 V, with a maximum boost output voltage of 75 V. The switch-mode dimming feature utilizes an external P-channel MOSFET, or two-step/PWM dimming can be selected without one.
The MPQ2484U provides robust fault protections such as thermal shutdown, cycle-by-cycle peak current limiting, output overvoltage protection (OVP), output short-circuit protection (SCP), LED open protection, and LED short protection. It also features a fault indicator that outputs an active logic low signal if a fault occurs. Additionally, the device offers configurable frequency spread spectrum (FSS) function and can be synchronized with a 100 kHz to 2.2 MHz external clock signal, providing a fast transient response and simplifying loop stabilization to improve EMI.
