About  Photointerrupters - Slot Type - Transistor Output

Transistor output slot type photointerrupters are optical sensor modules that combine an infrared light source and a photodiode, separated by an air gap or slot. These devices are designed to detect the presence or absence of an actuator, liquid, or other objects by blocking the light source. When an object interrupts the light beam passing through the slot, the photodiode detects the change in light intensity and triggers an output transistor. This transistor then switches on or off, resulting in a toggled voltage or binary signal indicating the presence or absence of the object. These photointerrupters are available in various mounting options to suit different application requirements. The options include chassis mounting, snap-in mounting, surface mounting, free-hanging mounting, and through-hole mounting. Snap-in mounting offers a convenient and quick installation process, eliminating the need for additional fasteners.
