Modular Connector Jacks With Magnetics

Modular connectors are a family of standardized interconnect products that are widely used in wired information and telecommunications networks. These connectors come in two types: receptacles/jacks with integrated magnetic components for high-speed applications such as Ethernet, and plugs and receptacles/jacks without integrated magnetic components for low-speed applications such as voice networks. The modular connectors with integrated magnetic components are commonly referred to as "magjacks" or "modular jacks". These connectors integrate the magnetics required for common high-speed applications, such as Ethernet, into the connector itself. This integration reduces the number of external components required, simplifying the design and reducing costs. On the other hand, the modular plugs and receptacles/jacks without integrated magnetic components are typically used for low-speed applications such as voice networks.
