Magnetic, Reed Switches

Magnetic reed switches are electronic devices that consist of a pair of ferromagnetic flexible metal reed contacts enclosed in a hermetically sealed body made of glass, magneshere, or other molded materials. These switches are designed to operate when a magnetic field is applied to them, causing the contacts to either close or open. When the magnetic field is present, the contacts of the switch are closed, and when it is removed, they return to their original position, which is usually open. The switch can be actuated by either an electromagnetic coil or a permanent magnet that is placed near the switch.
