Counters, Dividers

Counters, Dividers refer to a specific category of digital logic devices that are built as integrated circuits. These ICs are designed to perform counting and dividing operations on input signals in various electronic applications. Counters and dividers are used to keep track of the number of logic transitions or events occurring at their input pins. They have the ability to accumulate and display the count using multiple parallel output pins or generate a single output signal transition after a certain number of input transitions have been detected. Counters come in different types such as binary counters, decade counters, up/down counters, and programmable counters. Binary counters are the most common type and can count in binary code, while decade counters count in decimal or BCD (Binary Coded Decimal). Dividers, on the other hand, are used to divide the frequency of an input signal by a specific integer value. They take the input frequency and produce an output signal with a lower frequency.
