Products within the lighting control category are utilized to switch lighting fixtures such as streetlamps on or off, and/or to relay the operational status of a controlled lighting unit to a central controlling entity. Examples range from photocell-based devices that trigger a contact closure output when ambient light levels dip below a set threshold, to devices employing powerline communications protocols enabling centralized control.
