SCHURTER’s UHS and UHP fuses are compact and powerful SMD fuses designed for high-current SELV applications.
Safety extra low voltage (SELV) has created the need for more cost-effective, space-saving circuit protection solutions due to the growing use of powerful lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery cells with increased storage capacity. SCHURTER’s UHS and UHP fuses are compact fast-acting SMT fuses designed to safely interrupt high-energy overcurrent in the SELV range. The UHS is available in six current ratings from 50 A to 100 A at 50 VDC or 32 VDC, with a breaking capacity of up to 2000 A. The UHP is available in six current ratings from 50 A to 100 A at 80 VDC or 63 VDC, depending on the required breaking capacity of 3000 A or 2000 A.
The challenge lies in meeting these increasing demands while continuing to ensure safety. Even within SELV, where voltage levels are considered safe for human contact, there is still a risk of dangerous high currents in the event of a short circuit.
The UHS and UHP series fuses are designed to operate in a wide range of temperatures, from -55°C to +125°C, making these fuses suitable for use in various industries, including automotive, telecom, power tools, and data centers. Both series are RoHS compliant, UL approved, and bear REACH, CE, halogen-free, UKCA, and China RoHS markings, making the UHS and the UHP reliable and environmentally friendly choices for a broad range of high-energy electronic applications.
