STMicroelectronics presents the EVLVIPGAN50PD 45W USB Type-C Power Delivery 3.0 adapter reference design, leveraging the VIPerGaN50 and STUSB4761 controllers. The VIPerGaN50, based on a 650V HEMT Power GaN transistor, enables quasi-resonant flyback converters, delivering up to 45W output power efficiently across a wide range.
On the secondary side, the SRK1001 adaptive synchronous rectification controller enhances system efficiency. Additionally, the CC/CV regulation loop, powered by the STUSB4761 controller, drives the power regulation stage and manages the USB Type-C PD interface.
The evaluation board ensures robust protection against output overvoltage, undervoltage, over power, and short-circuits. Utilizing STMicroelectronics' semiconductors, this reference design streamlines adapter development, offering a cost-effective solution with a minimal bill of materials, ideal for rapid design iterations.
