Arduino presents the Portenta Vision Shield, a versatile module designed for image sensing and audio capture applications. The shield features a high-resolution camera module with a 324 px by 324 px ultra-low-power image sensor, enabling efficient always-on vision capabilities. This sensor is highly sensitive and can capture gestures, detect ambient light levels, enable proximity sensing, and perform object identification.
The Portenta Vision Shield also includes two omnidirectional digital microphones that allow users to capture audio alongside the video recordings. The captured data can be stored on a MicroSD card for further analysis or playback. The shield supports data transfer through Ethernet or LoRa® modules, providing flexible connectivity options.
By leveraging the OpenMV platform, professionals, researchers, and developers can easily create cost-effective camera vision and audio applications powered by Python. The Portenta Vision Shield is fully compatible with the Portenta H7, making it a seamless integration option for advanced projects requiring image sensing and audio capture capabilities.
